Quality Assurance

Quality in metal trading is not a slogan — it is the specification, the certificate and the heat number arriving together. Here is how that is assured on every order.

The discipline

Specification, Certificate, Traceability

Every offer states the specification the material will be supplied against, and the certification that will come with it. When the material arrives, three things must agree: the physical product, the paperwork, and the order. That agreement is the quality system in miniature — and everything below exists to keep it true.

  • Specification-driven sourcing — material is bought to ASTM / ASME / EN specifications, not to "equivalent" promises
  • EN 10204 Type 3.1 certification on specification material as standard; Type 3.2 where the order requires
  • Heat-number traceability — certificate, marking and paperwork reference the same identity
  • No silent substitution — if the exact grade is unavailable, alternatives are proposed and approved by the buyer first
  • Buyer-appointed third-party inspection coordinated on request
  • Export packing matched to product form and destination
What ships with an order. Mill test certificate (chemistry + mechanicals + heat number), the specification reference, packing list and invoice. Export consignments add the documentation set for the destination country.
Published data is indicative. The values on this website's material pages are nominal published ranges for shortlisting, and are labelled as indicative on every table. The certified values for the lot you buy are on its certificate — that is the number that counts.
Unverified items are never faked. Where a value or capability cannot be verified, it is not published. If the desk cannot certify something, you are told that plainly.

Inspection and Verification Options

Mill Certificate Review

Test certificates are reviewed against the ordered specification before dispatch — chemistry, mechanicals and heat number, not just a glance at the header.

Third-Party Inspection

Buyer-appointed agencies (inspection bodies of your choosing) are accommodated with a coordinated inspection window and access to the documentation they need.

Additional Testing

Where an order needs testing beyond the standard certificate — additional mechanicals, interstitials for titanium, or other specified tests — state it at enquiry and the desk will confirm what can be arranged with the producing mill.

Packing Standard

Packing is matched to the form and the journey — from crate-and-VCI for export bars and tubes to seaworthy packing for Gulf consignments. State the destination and any packing standard at enquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between EN 10204 Type 3.1 and 3.2?

Type 3.1 is a inspection document issued by the manufacturer's own authorised inspection representative, independent of the production department. Type 3.2 adds countersignature by the purchaser's or an officially designated representative. Specification material ships with 3.1 as standard; 3.2 is arranged where the order requires it.

What does a mill test certificate contain?

Chemical analysis of the actual heat, mechanical test results (tensile, yield, elongation and any specified impact or hardness), the heat number that ties the certificate to the physical material, and the specification the material was produced and tested against.

Can we appoint our own inspection agency?

Yes. Buyers may appoint an inspection agency for pre-dispatch verification; the desk coordinates the inspection window and provides the documentation set the agency needs.

Is the technical data on the website certified?

No — and it is labelled as such. Composition and property values on the material pages are indicative published ranges for selection and comparison. Purchase decisions must use the current specification revision and the mill test certificate for the actual lot.

What about marking and traceability on receipt?

Specification material carries the heat number, so the delivered piece, the tag, the certificate and the invoice all reference the same traceable identity. Marking requirements beyond the standard can be stated at enquiry.

What certifications does ACERO ALLOYS hold?

Three management-system certificates, issued by Quality Control Certification (QCC) and accredited by UASL, England (UK): ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 14001:2015 for environment and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety. All are valid from 08 December 2025 to 07 December 2028 and can be verified on the UASL register at uasl.uk.com/certifiedorganization.
